Congratulations to the Stadium High School students who are part of the winning team that captured first place in the 2020-21 Washington State High School Photography Competition. In addition to the first place team award, Stadium students won awards for their individual work.
These awards are especially meaningful this year, said Stadium photography teacher Jeremy Leffel.
“There is always a tremendous body of work submitted from schools around the state, and like any contest, exceptional work goes unnoticed every year,” he said. “Still, our students winning this competition in 2020-21 reinforces what I believed about the work they did last year – that photography, for some, was a really healthy creative outlet. I was blown away with the quality of work our students produced last year, despite the limitations and unusual circumstances.”
This is the second time in six years that Stadium took first place. Stadium High photo contest award winners are: Abby Britton, Daya Brambila, Owen Buckhalter, Sarah Davie, Joie Goninan, Emma Hagen, Caleb Jankanish, Isabella de Leon, Stella Marien, Joshua Martin, Willa McCormick, Ava Montgomery, John Nash, Bryan Pelayo, Caden Roberts, Arcadia Saenger, Navpreet Saroya, Alona Shubina, Dylan Smith, Alex Strong, James Weber, Carson Weigel.
