November 21, 2021

Good Afternoon Stadium Students and Families,

This is Principal Shannon Marshall with some important updates.

Daily Schedule

There will be no school from Wednesday, November 24 through Friday, November 26 for the Thanksgiving break. Enjoy the long weekend, Tigers.

Progress Grades

Progress reports are printed and in the mail. Please continue to check current grades on Schoology.

Attendance

We know that the single-most important factor in determining academic achievement is attendance. Please make sure students arrive at school on time each day. Parents/Guardians, please check your student’s attendance on the Home Access Center every day. We are struggling with students being tardy and missing classes throughout the day. We are doing our best to get (and keep) our students in class, but we really need your help. Thank you for supporting this effort.

Career Center Update

This week in the Career Center during lunches, Mrs. Junderson will host a representative from the US Naval Academy. Please eat in a designated area and then make your way to the Career Center. Please visit Mrs. Junderson’s website for more information about college and career planning, to connect with our community partners and for upcoming college visits and scholarship information.

TPS Virtual Financial Aid Support Night

This is a reminder that TPS community partner, Enhanced Prep, is hosting one more virtual workshop for financial aid. Experts will be available to provide an overview and work with families to help complete the FAFSA and WASFA. Seniors and parents/guardians are encouraged to attend together when possible.

  • November 22, 6:30-8:00 PM

Please register in advance on the Enhanced Prep website.

Giving Thanks

Stadium High School is so very thankful for our amazing community of staff, students, and families. Some have asked how they can provide support for our students in need, so I wanted to remind you about our InvestED account. Through InvestED, we provide opportunities for all students to be involved in school – academic and extra-curricular – without barriers. Thank you for supporting our Stadium students!

The link for InvestED can be found in MySchoolBucks on the Family App.

Free COVID-19 Tests

TPS has formed a new partnership to offer a free, easy way for students and their immediate family members to get tested for COVID-19. Starting Monday, November 22, Premier Medical Group will host the clinic from 1:00-5:00 PM on school days. You may walk in without an appointment.

Get your test:
Where: Madison Early Learning Center, 3101 S. 43rd St, Tacoma, 98409
When: 1:00-5:00 PM on school days
Who: TPS students and their immediate family members

Test results are available online within 15-20 minutes.

Reminders:

Please don’t forget about our early bird pricing ($50) for buying a yearbook ends on Tuesday, November 30. The deadline for senior portraits is Wednesday, December 1. Please review the specifications for senior portrait submission on our yearbook website.
