Health and Safety

The number of missed school days non-vaccinated students experience due to being a close contact of someone with COVID-19 is now reduced to 10 days or it may be less with a confirmed negative COVID lab test. This change at our schools comes in collaboration with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. You will still work closely with our COVID Supervisor, Mrs. Sage who will walk you through the process. If you would like more information, please visit our COVID-19 Health and Safety website.

Remote Learning during Inclement Weather?

Now that every student has access to a laptop or learning device, we need your input to determine if school should switch to remote learning during weather events such as snow days. Click here to let us know what works best for you and your student.

Two Levies on February Ballot

In February, you will see two replacement levies from Tacoma Public Schools on your ballot.

  • Proposition 1, the Educational Programs and Operations Levy, would fund about 15% of school district operations, including about 500 staff members.
  • Proposition 2, the Technology Improvements and Upgrades Levy, would fund technology access for all K-12 students.

Both levies would replace expiring levies that impact every TPS K-12 student in every neighborhood. I’ll share more information about the levies as we get closer to the election.

Please don’t forget that early bird pricing ($50) ends on November 30. The deadline for senior portraits is December 1. Please review the specifications and other details online at our yearbook website.

Activity Bus

We have two departure times for our activity buses: one at 4:30 PM one and at 6:00 PM. The bus plans to arrive early but will depart on time. Drop offs will be at the three NE elementary schools.

Students who would like an ORCA card to access Pierce Transit and other local transportation, may see one of our attendance specialists.
