College & Career Community Partners

Tacoma Public Schools partners with many local organizations. These partners do not have staff located at Stadium High School, however, students and families are encouraged to explore the services they provide.

Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC)

Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) helps at-risk, low-income, Asian and Pacific Islander youth stay in school and graduate by providing mentorship, wrap-around services, educational support and cultural connections.

The Center for High School Success (CHSS) provides training, coaching, data analysis, peer learning opportunities, and tools and resources to support high schools in effectively implementing a 9th Grade Success approach to substantially increase 9th Grade On-Track Rates.

Communities in Schools (CIS)

The Communities in Schools (CIS) partnership includes on-site staff ready to help support individual students with Whole Child support. This includes academic tutoring, progress monitoring, mentoring, and college/career planning support. Additionally, CIS supports the Mount Tahoma community by providing donations of supplies, food and basic necessities and connecting students and families with needed resources.

Evergreen Upward Bound

Evergreen Upward Bound works to support low-income high school students in becoming the first in their family to obtain a college degree. Students are offered academic advising, assistance with college and scholarship applications and after-school tutoring and workshops, with the goal of keeping our students on track for college success.

MDC Upward Bound

MDC Upward Bound guides low-income and/or first-generation students through high school while exploring and preparing for college and career after high school. Students will receive one-to-one advising and mentoring, field trips, academic tutoring, budgeting and money management, 6-week summer programming, FAFSA and financial aid guidance, scholarship navigation, college tours and admissions assistance, and referrals to other community resources.
