Stadium Parking Garage

The last day of classes for seniors is Monday, June 10, but seniors have required morning events on campus on June 11 and June 12. Unless you are a Stadium staff member or a Stadium senior who has purchased and been assigned a parking space, do not park in the Stadium parking garage. Violators will be towed, and underclassmen may be disqualified from participating in the lottery for parking spaces for next year.

COPE Health Scholars

Tacoma Public Schools has secured funding for students aged 16+ to enroll in the COPE Health Scholars and Junior Health Scholars programs, staring summer of 2024.

  • Health Scholars Program: 18+ years of age
  • Junior Health Scholars Program: 16-17 years of age

Students will explore the basics of healthcare, learn about specialty departments on clinical rotations, earn a completion certificate in patient experience, and more. For more information, please visit COPE Health Scholars - MultiCare Health System Jobs. Start your application at Health Scholars - COPE Health Scholars.

Reminders from last week…

Yearbook Distribution

If you have not yet picked up your Stadium yearbook or would like to purchase a yearbook for $75, you may do so in the Stadium Business Office before school, during your lunch, or after school.

Mayor’s Youth Commission

For students hoping to make an impact on their community, the Mayor’s Youth Commission of Tacoma is a great opportunity. It is a platform for middle schoolers and high schoolers in Tacoma to engage their local government and be a part of the important decisions being made right now that affect them and their community.

2024-2025 Bell Schedule

The new high school start and end times for the 24-25 school year were released last week. Stadium High School will start at 8:15 AM and end at 2:45 PM on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays. We will start at 9:15 AM on Wednesdays.

The need for a more efficient bus route system drove this change. This shift reduces the number of bus routes, which will save about $1 million in transportation costs per year. For more information about the changes to start and end times, please visit this article on the TPS website.

2024-25 Athletic Registration

Athletic registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open! You may register in Final Forms for next year. Please continue to refer to our Stadium Athletics website and email stadiumathletics@tacoma.k12.wa.us with any athletic needs.

Sports physicals are required for all TPS students participating in school athletics. Here are some local resources for sports physicals.

Tacoma FLEX

Are you interested in Tacoma FLEX for the 2024-2025 school year? Tacoma FLEX supports each student’s individual circumstance because students can take one or two classes online, in addition to completing the rest of their classes at Stadium. Students may not be on campus during their “flex” time, so families must be able to provide their own transportation. If you are interested in Tacoma FLEX for next year, please complete the form on the Tacoma FLEX website. Guidance counselors will work with students and families to make individual arrangements for next year’s schedule.

Summer Reading Challenge

All Tacoma Public Schools students and family members are invited to join the Summer Reading Challenge at the Tacoma Public Library. This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

Research has shown that summer reading prevents the “summer slide,” or loss of knowledge and reading proficiency over the summer. TPL's Summer Reading Challenge is a fun and beneficial experience for all ages! Check out our events calendar to see events and programs for all ages! Register online now. Paper registration will be available on June 22, 2024.

Through the challenge, you can read, complete activities, and attend programs to earn prizes. The Summer Reading Challenge runs from June 22 through August 17.

2024 Summer Late Nights

Tacoma middle and high school students have free places to socialize every weeknight this summer. Starting June 24, Summer Late Nights opens across Tacoma! Schools, community centers, and non-profits are again opening their doors to provide a safe place for teens to be engaged. Middle and high school students can eat dinner, participate in open gym, take part in art and music activities, and hang out with friends. Summer Late Nights is a drop-in program. Parents/guardians are encouraged to register their student online so facilities can properly prepare. For more information and to register, please visit the TPS Summer Late Nights website.

9th, 10th, and 11th grade Opportunity

The Elizabeth Wesley Youth Merit Incentive Award application is now available for the 2023-2024 school year. This award is for African American students in the 9th, 10th & 11th grades with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (cumulative). Students who meet award criteria are eligible for a $350 incentive award. Electronic and paper applications are due June 28 and are available here: www.ewesleyaward.org

Have a wonderful week, Tigers!
