SAT – Juniors – March 13 & 14
All juniors are preregistered to take the SAT at Stadium. Although some colleges may not require SAT scores for admission, we encourage all students to test in case they need these scores in the future. Also, students may use SAT scores to meet Graduation Pathway requirements and/or retrieve credit for failed math and/or English classes.
The digital SAT will take students approximately three hours. Because the test is digital, we are unable to test all juniors at the same time. Students will test in the Stadium gym and must arrive by 8:10 AM on the following days:
- Juniors with US History 1st, 2nd, or 3rd period will test on Thursday, March 13.
- Juniors with US History 4th, 5th, or 6th period will test on Friday, March 14.
Students will take the digital SAT on their student laptop and must bring their fully charged and updated laptop and power cord on their testing day. Here is a complete list of what to bring on test day:
- Fully charged TPS school laptop with the Bluebook™ application installed
- Laptop power cord
- Photo ID
- Pencils or pens for scratch work
- An acceptable calculator for use on the Math section of the test (there will be an embedded graphing calculator available to use in Bluebook™)
- You may bring a drink or snacks for your break
Students have been performing a digital readiness check in their US History classes using their laptops to ensure that the Bluebook™ application is installed, and their profile setup is complete.
Staff will do their best to assist with technical issues on the day of the test, but students must come prepared to ensure they are able to test. If a student has not participated in this preparation, does not have a TPS issued laptop, or is a Running Start student planning to take the SAT, they need to contact Mr. Tuman for further instructions.
Here are some resources for your preparation:
- SAT Practice and Preparation – SAT Suite | College Board
- SAT Student Guide
- Free LIVE Tutoring is available through Tutor.com
If you have any questions about assessments at Stadium, please contact Mr. Tuman at atuman@tacoma.k12.wa.us.
