Please check your student’s attendance on ParentVUE. If you notice discrepancies in your student’s attendance, please check with your student and/or contact our attendance team.

Daily Schedule 

On Tuesday, May 12, prom tickets go on sale. Only Stadium seniors and their invited and approved guests may attend prom. Tickets may only be purchased by Stadium seniors and are nonrefundable and nontransferable. 

Wednesday, May 13, is a late start day. School will start promptly at 9:15 AM and buses will run one hour later. Staff will be not available until 8:50 AM and Stadium’s doors will open one hour later at 8:50 AM. Please plan accordingly.

On Wednesday, May 13, we will host Workday Wednesday from 2:45-4:45 PM in the Stadium Library. Students must go directly to tutoring after school and arrive by 2:55 PM. 

For your advanced planning, there will be no school on Friday, May 22, as this was scheduled as a snow make-up day. There will also be no school on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. 

Save the Date: SBA Testing for 10^th graders is June 1-4, and each student will test two of the four days. More information is forthcoming. 

 

Graduation Tickets

Stadium High School Class of 2026 Graduation is Thursday, June 11, at 4:30 PM at the Tacoma Dome. Entrance is by ticket only and is general admission. There are no reserved seats for graduation. The Dome will also charge for parking, so carpooling is encouraged.

Graduation tickets are on sale now and are $10.00 each. They may be purchased before school, during lunch, and after school until 3:00 PM at the Stadium Business Office. Tickets may also be purchased at the Tacoma Dome on Graduation Day for $10.00

Each graduate will receive eight (8) free tickets during Senior Checkout on June 9 if all fines are paid – this includes turning in their laptop and charging cord. Please check ParentVUE or contact the Stadium Business Office for fine status and to make payments.

 

Tacoma Public Library

Tacoma Public Library is launching a new teen program in partnership with Brotherhood RISE, focused on building life skills, financial literacy, job readiness, and connecting youth with community resources. Families are invited to attend one of two upcoming info sessions at the Main Library at 1102 Tacoma Ave S on May 19 from 5:30–7:00 PM to learn more and meet the program facilitators; dinner will be provided. After these sessions, the program will continue weekly for teens ages 12–18 on Tuesdays from 5:30–7:00 PM. Maritime|253

There’s still time to register for Maritime|253! This is a skills center in which students take courses to prepare for a career in maritime-related fields. The brand new Maritime|253 Skills Center opens its doors this fall and welcome its first class of students. Students remain enrolled at their high school and spend half their day at the skills center. Stadium Boosters

The Stadium Booster Auction is this Saturday, May 16, at the Tacoma Art Museum! The theme this year is “An Evening in Paris.” Buy your tickets now! This is always a wonderful event – treat yourself!

Seniors – HSBP

Seniors, you are doing a great job finalizing your HSBP. If you are waiting on your VANI, we understand – get all other components done and upload your VANI as soon as you receive it. If you have not completed your HSBP and have not applied to a college, please see your guidance counselor ASAP. 

 

May AP Testing Schedule

AP Exams begin this week! AP teachers have supported students as they prepared their laptops for testing, and students should be sure they can log in to their College Board accounts (the same credentials used for AP Classroom). Stadium does not have access to student login information, so please confirm your student knows their username and password; if needed, the College Board can assist at 866‑756‑7346. 

A testing calendar is included for planning purposes, and students will receive detailed exam and location information from their AP teachers. Students will have school‑related, excused absences while they are testing.

Stadium Blood Drive

Stadium High School is hosting a Blood Drive on Wednesday, May 20, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the Aux Gym. You must be at least 16 years old to donate, and 16- and 17-year-olds need a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian. To be a part of the cause, stop by Coach Johnson's room to grab your permission slip and scan the QR codes on the posters around the school to sign up for your time slot. Your appointment will take around an hour. Don't forget to eat and hydrate before donating, and remember to bring your ID. We hope to see you there, Tigers!

 

Dress Code Reminder

As we move into warmer weather, this is a reminder to please review the Stadium dress code included below. Sharing this information from the Stadium Handbook is intended to provide clarity and consistency. Thank you for your support.

Handbook Language (included verbatim):

Stadium’s Dress Code is designed to allow for student comfort while maintaining a safe environment conducive to teaching and learning.

If a student is out of compliance with the Stadium Dress Code, they will be asked to remedy the situation to become compliant with the following expectations.

• For safety reasons, hats, hoods, visors, and other head coverings are discouraged. Ski masks and full face/head coverings are not permitted. There may be occasions where students are asked to remove their head covering for the purpose of identification.  Students should comply with this request promptly. Religious/cultural/medical head coverings will be authorized by the administration.
• Students must wear clothing including both a shirt/top with pants, skirt, shorts or the equivalent and shoes.
• Shirts/tops must have fabric on the front, sides, back, and cover the abdomen. Muscle shirts, strapless shirts and shirts with more than 2 inches between the shirt hem and pant hem do not meet this criterion.
• Pants, dresses, skirts, and shorts must have fabric on the front, sides and back, and must be long enough that there is fabric between your legs and a chair. This is a hygiene concern.
• Given we have 6 flights of stairs, for the physical and emotional safety of our students, we recommend wearing shorts under skirts and dresses.
• Clothing must be suitable for all scheduled classroom activities including physical education, science labs, wood shop, and other activities where unique hazards exist. These specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as sports uniforms or safety gear.
• Garments that have alcohol, drug, sexual, or negative ethnic/racial comments or connotations are not allowed to be worn at school or at school-related activities (home or away).
• Clothing may not use or depict hate speech targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation or any other protected groups.
• Shoes are to be worn at all times. Laboratory or shop classes may require closed-toed shoes for safety.
• Sunglasses are not permitted to be worn inside the buildings. Transition lenses are permitted.

In order to minimize disruption and loss of instructional time, students should have extra clothing items, especially if they believe they may be asked to change. Please check your student’s attire on a daily basis to assure that students maximize their learning opportunities and avoid attire that is not compliant with the Stadium Dress Code.

If you have reason to believe an item may not be school appropriate… it probably isn’t.

In all cases, school administrators will make the final determination regarding specific dress code violations. Students are expected to be cooperative whenever their attire is deemed noncompliant. Argumentative, hostile, or defiant behavior will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

Summer Late Nights – June

Once again, the community is coming together to offer a fun, safe place for kids to hang out in the summer. On June 22, Summer Late Nights opens for students starting 7th grade through 12th grade in the fall.  They can get dinner every weeknight and participate in open gym and field activities, art and music, and gaming from 5:00-10:00 PM.

Summer Late Nights is a free drop-in program. Students can attend as often as they like. We encourage you to register on Compass. You can get more information on the TPS website.
 

Senior Scholarships

Stadium Black Student Union (BSU) is offering a scholarship for a graduating African American Stadium senior who has demonstrated academic excellence, personal growth, leadership, and has dedicated their time to advocacy. The application deadline is May 15. More information and the application are available at BSU Scholarship Opportunity(updated link from BSU!).
