Please check your student’s attendance on ParentVUE. If you notice discrepancies in your student’s attendance, please check with your student and/or contact our attendance team.

 

Congratulations to Aidan Oehling! He entered the 2026 US Congressional Art Competition which was recently promoted in the Stadium Weekly, and he was awarded 1^st Place! Aidan and his artwork will be honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. next month, and his artwork will be displayed in U.S. Capitol for the next year.

 

Daily Schedule

There will be no school on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. We had a beautiful assembly on Thursday, and we hope you can take some time to watch it here: Stadium’s 104th Memorial Day Assembly. Our ASB leaders, NJROTC cadets, talented musicians, and honored wreath bearers were amazing! I am so proud that our students take time to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Wednesday, May 27, is a late start day. School will start promptly at 9:15 AM and buses will run one hour later. Staff will be not available until 8:50 AM and Stadium’s doors will open one hour later at 8:50 AM. Please plan accordingly.

On Wednesday, May 27, we will host Workday Wednesday from 2:45-4:45 PM in the Stadium Library. Students must go directly to tutoring after school and arrive by 2:55 PM.

 

Prom Ticket Sales

Seniors, prom tickets will be on sale until Friday, May 29. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Senior Prom is an event for the Stadium Class of 2026 and their invited and approved guests.

 

June Testing Schedule

We have state testing next week! The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) is required for sophomores. Students will report to the main gym at the start of 1^st period with their charged TPS laptop and charging cord – loaner computers do not have the necessary testing application, so students must come prepared with their assigned laptop. Please be on time!

Students will have a school-related, excused absence from class when they are testing.

• Monday, June 1          SBA – ELA – 10^th grade last names A-K
• Tuesday, June 2          SBA – ELA – 10^th grade last names L-Z
• Wednesday, June 3     SBA – Math – 10^th grade last names A-K
• Thursday, June 4         SBA – Math – 10^th grade last names L-Z
• Friday, June 5             WA Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) – 11^th grade

 

Yearbook Distribution

Distribution of pre-purchased yearbooks will begin on June 3 for all students during their lunch or after school.

Seniors may pick up their yearbooks on June 2 during lunch or after school.

Please remember:

• A photo ID is required to pick up a yearbook.
• Only the student who purchased the yearbook may pick it up.

Yearbooks are available for purchase at the Stadium Business Office while supplies last.

 

Pickleball Tournament

The junior class is hosting a doubles pickleball tournament!

• When: May 28 from 3:00-6:00 PM
• Cost per participant: $5 w/ ASB & $7 w/o
• Cost for spectators: FREE!
• Where: Upper tennis courts
• Prizes: There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

To participate, pay at the Stadium Business Office by Thursday, May 28!

 

Senior ASB Event

The 2^nd Annual Senior Field Day will occur directly after the Moving Up Assembly on June 5 and will conclude at 5:00 PM. This free event – exclusively for Stadium seniors – will include games and ice cream!

 

Safe Driving Reminder

As we near the end of the school year, more students are driving themselves to and from campus. Please take a moment to talk with your student—and as drivers yourselves—to help ensure we are all doing our part to keep our school community safe.

We kindly remind everyone to:

• Obey all traffic laws and posted signs
• Slow down, especially in school zones and surrounding neighborhoods
• Stay off cell phones and electronic devices while driving
• Be alert and watchful for pedestrians, cyclists, pets, and other vehicles
• Use extra caution during drop-off and pick-up times, when the area is most congested

Thank you for helping us promote safe, respectful driving habits in and around Stadium High School. The safety of our students, staff, and neighbors depends on all of us working together.

 

Youth Centered Town Hall

Congresswoman Emily Randall is hosting a town hall in the Gig Harbor High School library from 4:30-5:30 PM on Wednesday, May 27. This is a youth-centered town hall for Tacoma-area students, staff, families, and community members. Priority will be given to engaging our youth in relevant topics and answering their questions.

 

Futures 253 – Start Investing

Check out a new program giving Tacoma Public Schools students a powerful opportunity to invest in their futures. Participating students contribute $150 of earned income into a Roth IRA established in their name. After meeting program requirements, students receive a $100 incentive grant from the Tacoma Education Dream Fund. In addition to opening an account, students complete an investing basics course and submit a reflection essay, gaining firsthand experience in saving, investing, and understanding financial risk.

Student School Board Rep

Applications are now open for the 2026–27 Tacoma Public Schools Student School Board Representative program. This is an opportunity for current 10^th and 11^th grade students to serve as student leaders representing the voices, experiences and perspectives of students across the school district.

New Scholarships

The Stadium Boosters Scholarship is open to all Stadium High School students in the Class of 2026. One (1) $500.00 scholarship will be granted in each of the following post-high school categories: (1) two- or four-year college; (2) trade school or training program; and (3) entering the workforce. Applications are due by May 29.

The Marv Shain Endowment Fund was established in 2000 to provide scholarships to support Stadium High School seniors who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary school. Recipients shall have been involved in fine or performing arts and/or other student activities while at Stadium. Applications are due by May 29.

The Paul Margelli Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1984 in memory of Paul Margelli, the Stadium High School choral director for 25 years. This fund supports senior music students at Stadium High School who plan to attend an accredited college after graduation. Applications are due by May 29.

Reminders from last week…

 

Summer Late Nights – June

Once again, the community is coming together to offer a fun, safe place for kids to hang out in the summer. On June 22, Summer Late Nights opens for students starting 7th grade through 12th grade in the fall.  They can get dinner every weeknight and participate in open gym and field activities, art and music, and gaming from 5:00-10:00 PM.

Summer Late Nights is a free drop-in program. Students can attend as often as they like. We encourage you to register on Compass. You can get more information on the TPS website.

 

Senior Opportunity

Quota of Tacoma is a local non-profit empowering woman, children, and those in Pierce County who need support. They are providing five (5) educational scholarships to female students who will be the first in their extended family to attend a post-secondary institution. Quota will award each student with a $1000 scholarship for their fall enrollment.
