Good afternoon, Stadium Students and Families,

This is Principal Shannon Marshall with some important updates.

Stadium is pleased to announce that our 2025 Daffodil Princess is Samiksha Singh. Congratulations, Sam! We know you are a wonderful representative for Stadium High School and Pierce County.

Congratulations to both the Stadium Girls and the Stadium Boys Cross-country teams! They each finished 12th in State last weekend.

Stadium has received exciting news! GreatSchools has announced the winners of their 2024 College Success Award, which recognizes and celebrates public high schools that excel in preparing students to enroll and succeed in college. Stadium is one of this year’s winners!

Daily Schedule

All 9th graders will be receiving new laptops and power cords on Monday, November 18. All freshmen MUST bring their school-issued laptop and power cord to school on November 18.

On Monday, November 18, the Stadium Boosters will meet in the Stadium Library at 6:00 PM. If you're not able to attend in person, you may join by Zoom (new link). If you are attending in person, please come to the front door of the Castle.

Wednesday, November 20, is a late start day. School will start at 9:15 AM and buses will run one hour later.

For your advanced planning, there will be no school on November 27-29 for Thanksgiving Break.

Stadium’s Production of Frozen

The Stadium Theatre production of Frozen is this week! Showtimes are:

  • Thursday, November 21, at 7:00 PM
  • Friday, November 22, at 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, November 23, at 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM
  • Sunday, November 24, at 1:30 PM

Tickets are $15 each and students with ASB may buy one $13 ticket at the Stadium Business Office before school, during lunch, or after school. Tickets may be purchased for $15 and a surcharge on Brown Paper Tickets, and they provide options for digital tickets, printed tickets, and tickets at will call. Tickets will be sold at the door (cash only) if the show is not already sold out. There will be no phone sales for this event.

When you attend events at Stadium, please park in the Stadium parking garage or utilize street parking. Please do not park in the reserved spaces that belong to our neighboring apartment communities, as they will tow vehicles.

Yearbook Updates

This is a reminder that the price of the yearbook will increase from $55 to $65 on December 1.

Senior portraits for the Stadium yearbook are due December 1. Only senior portraits uploaded through the Walsworth yearbook website by the firm deadline will be included. You may find details at Yearbook - Stadium High School (tacomaschools.org). Please direct any questions to Mrs. Walz, the yearbook advisor. 

College & Career Center Update

This week in the College & Career Center, Mikaela Mattes with the College Success Foundation will host Pacific Lutheran University on Thursday, November 21, during both lunches.

Mikaela welcomes students into the College and Career Center before school and during lunches Monday-Thursday. She provides after school opportunities for students, as follows:

  • “Motivation Monday” on Monday, November 18, from 2:45-4:00 PM
  • After school support on Wednesday, November 20, from 2:45-4:00 PM
  • “Young, Black, and Thriving” on Thursday, November 21, from 2:45-4:00 PM

Students will be able to receive support working on financial aid, scholarships, and all things college related. Please visit Mikaela Mattes’ website for more information about college planning and scholarship opportunities.

Tacoma Public Schools has College Readiness resources and Career Readiness resources available for students and their families on the district’s My Future website.

Progress Reports

Progress reports for student in grades 6-12 are available in ParentVUE. To view your student’s mid-term report card in ParentVUE, 

  • Choose “Report Card” from the side navigation and a summary will display.
  • Select “Click here to view report card” to view the full report card.
  • Choose “Documents” from the side navigation and click "Report Card" to see the fully formatted document. 

Students are able to view progress reports in StudentVUE, as well. 

Blood Drive

Stadium ASB is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, November 20. Students who are at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds are eligible to donate. Students can sign up using the QR code on the posters around Stadium or in room 132. Students will receive a permission slip for a parent/guardian’s signature if they are under 18.

Stadium is partnering with Bloodworks Northwest to sponsor this drive. Please consider donating at Stadium or in the community. It takes 1,000 donors a day to sustain a blood supply for patients in our community. 

Homework Help

Students, in addition to Honor Society tutoring after school on Tuesdays and Fridays in Room 319, we are now offering tutoring during both lunches Monday-Thursday in Room B13, right off the cafeteria.

Don’t forget about Tutor.com, which you can access through Clever. Keep checking your grades on StudentVUE. You’ve got this, Tigers!

Winter Athletics

The winter sports season starts on Monday, November 18 (Bowling starts on November 4). If you are interested in Boys or Girls Basketball, Girls Bowling, Girls Flag Football, Boys Swim & Dive, or Boys or Girls Wrestling this is your season! Please find athletic information on the Stadium Athletics website. All student athletes must register using the Final Forms registration system. To participate, student athletes need to have all forms completed and a valid sports physical submitted and reviewed prior to the first day of practice. If you have any questions, please email stadiumathletics@tacoma.k12.wa.us.

Whole Child Champions

Please consider nominating a school staff member to be a Whole Child Champion. Champions create a positive school culture where we can all feel safe, healthy, engaged, challenged, and supported. To nominate someone, complete this form by November 262025 Tacoma Whole Child Champion Award Nomination

Donating to Stadium’s InvestED

InvestED is our primary fund to help Stadium students with financial hardships. Due to increased student need, we are hoping for your support. InvestED provides funding to secondary schools throughout Washington State. Through InvestED, we can provide opportunities for all students to be involved in school without financial barriers. InvestED will match our donations dollar for dollar up to $500 per school year.

If this is something you’ve been considering, please donate and help us continue to provide equitable access to all Stadium has to offer.

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships aren't just for the top students or best athletes. There are many different types of awards available. Please use this TPS website for Scholarship resources.

Leadership 1000 Scholarship – The Leadership 1000 Scholarship awards funding to certain high school seniors attending eligible high schools or students enrolled in CSF’s College Services who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a Washington state college or university. The scholarship is renewable and available in amounts up to $5,000 per academic year for students who demonstrate financial need. Scholars receive career and financial aid guidance as well as networking opportunities with CSF Alumni and scholarship donors to ensure they graduate with a college degree and achieve success in life.
