Daily Schedule

There will be no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, November 27-29, for Thanksgiving Break.

Freshman Movie Night        

The sophomore ASB officers are hosting a movie night for our Stadium 9th graders on Friday, December 6, from 3:00-5:00 PM in the PAC. Freshmen, check your email to vote on which movie we will show!

This is a community building event for all Stadium freshmen. Come; mingle; have some complimentary donuts, hot chocolate, and apple cider; and enjoy the movie. We're looking forward to seeing you there! 

High School & Beyond Plan

Tacoma Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of SchooLinks, a new platform to simplify the High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) process for our students. SchooLinks provides a centralized place for students to complete and track every HSBP requirement from middle school through graduation. This tool can help students explore careers, prepare for college, and track progress toward graduation.

Students can access SchooLinks through Clever. Once in Clever, login with Office 365 and then select SchooLinks. Log in and explore the interactive tools and resources!

College & Career Center Update

Mikaela welcomes students into the College & Career Center before school, during lunches, and after school Monday-Thursday.

This week, she will provide after school opportunities for students as follows:

• “Motivation Monday” on Monday, November 25, at 2:45 PM
• “Tackle it Tuesday” on Tuesday, November 26, at 2:45 PM

Because the Leadership 1000 Scholarship is due on November 30, Mikaela is offering extra support sessions for this application as follows:

• Monday, November 25, at 7:30 AM
• Tuesday, November 26, at 7:30 AM

Students will be able to receive support working on financial aid, scholarships, and all things college related. Please visit Mikaela Mattes’ website for more information about college planning and scholarship opportunities.

New Scholarships - The Tacoma Elks Lodge 174 is offering two (2) scholarship programs for local high school seniors who are planning to continue their education.

• The Tacoma Elks Lodge 174 Scholarship for High School Seniors offers winners $1,000 a year, up to 4 years of undergraduate study. Payable to the school of their choice.
• The Tronson Vocational Scholarship offers winners $1,000 a year, renewal depends on length of vocational program. Payable to the vocational school of their choice.

Please consider nominating a school staff member to be a Whole Child Champion. Champions create a positive school culture where we can all feel safe, healthy, engaged, challenged, and supported. Yearbook Updates

This is a reminder that the price of the yearbook will increase from $55 to $65 on December 1.

Senior portraits for the Stadium yearbook are due December 1. Only senior portraits uploaded through the Walsworth yearbook website by the firm deadline will be included. You may find details at Yearbook - Stadium High School (tacomaschools.org). Please direct any questions to Mrs. Walz, the yearbook advisor. 

Families of seniors, Senior Graduation Ads are due by February 15, 2025. Only ads made through Walsworth can be accepted. Please visit Stadium’s Yearbook Website for the details and contact Mrs. Walz if you have any questions.

Donating to Stadium’s InvestED

InvestED is our primary fund to help Stadium students with financial hardships. Due to increased student need, we are hoping for your support. InvestED provides funding to secondary schools throughout Washington State. Through InvestED, we can provide opportunities for all students to be involved in school without financial barriers. InvestED will match our donations dollar for dollar up to $500 per school year.

If this is something you’ve been considering, please donate and help us continue to provide equitable access to all Stadium has to offer.

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships aren't just for the top students or best athletes. There are many different types of awards available. Please use this TPS website for Scholarship resources.

Leadership 1000 Scholarship – The Leadership 1000 Scholarship awards funding to certain high school seniors attending eligible high schools or students enrolled in CSF’s College Services who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a Washington state college or university. The scholarship is renewable and available in amounts up to $5,000 per academic year for students who demonstrate financial need. Scholars receive career and financial aid guidance as well as networking opportunities with CSF Alumni and scholarship donors to ensure they graduate with a college degree and achieve success in life.

To be considered for the Leadership 1000 Scholarship, students must:

• have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
• plan to enroll at an eligible Washington state college or university starting fall 2025
• have resided in Washington state for at least one year prior to enrolling in college
• file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the free Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA)
• have a family income that doesn’t exceed the program’s requirement
