Daily Schedule

Tuesday, September 30, wear college and career gear.

Wednesday, October 1, is a late start day. School will start promptly at 9:15 AM and buses will run one hour later. Staff will be not available until 8:50 AM and Stadium’s doors will open one hour later at 8:50 AM. Please plan accordingly.

 

Save the Date: Picture Make-up/Retake Day is Friday, October 10 for all students who need a school picture. The October 10 Picture Day ID is EVTPX9JW8. Retakes are for those who have purchased picture packets. For all fall ordering, enjoy 10% off with code: F2510OFF. Lifetouch Ordering

Save the Date: There will be no school for students on Monday, October 13, because this is a professional development day for teachers.

Save the Date: Students will have early release at 11:30 AM on October 16 & 17.

Homecoming Dance Tickets

Homecoming dance tickets for Stadium students will be on sale from September 29-October 17. Guest tickets will be on sale from September 29-October 8. Tickets will be sold at the Stadium Business Office before school, during lunch, and after school until 3:15 PM. Ticket prices are:

• Stadium student with ASB                 $10
• Stadium student without ASB             $15
• Guest ticket with completed form      $20

Tickets will not be sold at the dance, online, or by phone. Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

 

Healthy Youth Survey

This fall, students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 across Washington State will take the Healthy Youth Survey. Students in Tacoma Public Schools will take the survey between October 6-24. Stadium students will take the survey in their social studies class.

The survey is run every other year, and results help track health behaviors over time and are used to identify important areas of need. This survey is anonymous and voluntary. It takes about 45 minutes. Students can skip questions or stop taking the survey at any time. The results from 2023 survey brought in a new $3 million mental health grant. 

 

Jobs 253 Opportunities

Student Government Day

Tacoma Public Schools students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend Student Government Day on October 21. Students will spend the day at Tacoma City Hall and other municipal buildings learning more about their local government and policymaking.

Free ORCA Cards

Anyone 18 and younger can use a Youth ORCA card (also known as a Free Youth Transit Pass) when they ride transit, or they can show their student ID to the driver as they board and to any transit official upon request.

Stay Home When Sick

Help keep students and staff safe by limiting the spread of infectious illnesses and keeping your student home from school when they are sick. Students should stay home if: 

• They are too sick to participate in normal activities
• They need a level of care or observation not manageable at school
• They create an unhealthy or unsafe environment for others 

When children have respiratory virus symptoms, including cough, fever or chills, health care authorities recommend they return to normal activities when both of the following are true for at least 24 hours:

• Symptoms are getting better overall, and
• No fever (and not using fever-reducing medication)

No Cell Bell to Bell

We’re excited to share how well our cell phone policy is going. Students and staff are working together to create focused, distraction-free classrooms, and the results have been fantastic.

Thank you for supporting this effort at home! Please continue to help us by reminding your student that cell phones, earbuds, and headphones should be stored in their bags from bell to bell in every class.

We are proud of the way our students have stepped up to meet this expectation and grateful for the partnership of our families in reinforcing it. Together, we’re building strong habits that keep our classrooms focused on learning.

 

I-705 Closure Update

I-705 NB toward Stadium is expected to open September 29. Once the NB section opens, the SB section will close for further construction. The TPS Transportation Department is aware of the project and will monitor the impact on bus routes.

Homecoming 2025

The theme for Stadium’s 2025 Homecoming is “A Night Under the Lanterns.”

Homecoming is the week of October 13-18. That week will be a spirit week – theme days to be announced soon. Our homecoming assembly will be on Wednesday, October 15. The homecoming football game against Kennedy is on Friday, October 17. The homecoming dance is Saturday, October 18, from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Stadium main gym. Attire for the dance is semi-formal.

• Dance tickets go on sale Monday, September 29, and will be sold before school, during lunch, and after school through Friday, October 17.
• Tickets will not be sold at the dance, online, or by phone.
• IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
  • All attendees must have and show photo ID and their ticket for entry.
  • Attendees must arrive by 8:00 PM to be admitted.
  • There is no re-entry.
  • Please visit School Dances - Stadium High School for more information.

We also understand that our Tigers may want to attend the dance with a significant person who attends another school. Here is the process for our guest attendees:

• Guest forms will be available in the main office on Wednesday, September 24.
  • Stadium students must pick up the guest form, as non-students cannot be on campus during school hours.
  • The Stadium host student must have a completed guest form with all required signatures before they purchase their guest ticket. Only Stadium students may purchase tickets.
  • Guest tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, October 8.
  • Each Stadium student may bring no more than ONE honored guest.
  • Guests must be in at least 9^th grade and under 21 years of age.
  • Guests must arrive and leave with their Stadium student.

 

Scholarship Opportunity

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has announced its annual essay contest for high school seniors. There are four college scholarship awards ranging from $1000 to $5000. The essay is due to the local chapter by October 31, 2025. International High School Essay Contest
